Peggy Clarkson, MA, ATR, RCC-ACS is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Consultant and Registered Art Therapist in Private Practice. She has worked extensively in Aboriginal health for many years, living and working on-reserve in both Haida Gwaii and Waglisla (Bella Bella), BC. She has presented internationally at conferences in Budapest, Hungary and Honolulu, Hawaii. She has offered clinical supervision and consultation for over 20 years, and is employed as the clinical supervisor at WAVAW/Rape Crisis Centre. Additionally, she presented at The Wellsprings Conference at St. Paul’s Hospital, in Vancouver, BC on trauma and art therapy.
She specializes in critical incident stress management and trauma work.
Peggy studied at Concordia University to complete her Master’s degree in art therapy, and has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from U.B.C. Peggy has also studied art and art history for many years including courses at Emily Carr College of Art and Design, Langara College and .B.C.
Her work is influenced by ecopsychology, and feminist, strengths-based trauma-informed approaches to wellness and healing. Peggy specializes with women, children, youth, adults and families. She is trained in CBT and DBT.
Peggy strives to reflect cultural-relational competency and honor diversity in leadership, project development, therapy and clinical supervisory capacities.
Peggy teaches at 3 post graduate universities, VATI, Adler University and St. Stephen’s College in Alberta.
